Sony will add Variable Refresh Rate VVR support to PS5 this week

Sony has revealed that they are planning to add Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support to the PS5 as early as this week.

VRR allows you to get rid of various graphical problems and FPS drops. In the coming weeks, some PS5 games will receive a patch to add VRR support. These are the following games

  • Astro’s Playroom
  • Call of Duty: Vanguard
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Destiny 2
  • Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
  • DIRT 5
  • Godfall
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
  • Tribes of Midgard.
If you wish, you can try to apply the VRR function to games that do not initially support it - for a possible improvement in video quality. You can always turn it off in the settings.
